Internet Service Provider (ISP):
A company providing connections to the internet.

IP address:
A set of numbers used to uniquely identify a computer on a network. Generaly split into four 8-bit numbers.
e.g. 192.168.0.1

IP address

When connecting through a dial up account or a standard ADSL connection, your ISP will normally allocate you with a dynamically assigned IP address from within their fixed range. This will generally change each time you log on.

Whilst you can stream using a dynamic address, it is much preferable to have a static IP address. Generally accounts with these are available at a slightly higher cost.
