ADSL:
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, generally available at bandwidth's of 512kbps, 1Mbps or 2Mbps. Being asynchronus, the upload speeds are lower than the download speeds. The reason behind this is due to ADSL being primarily a consumer product. Most people use it for downloading "large" amounts information, and relative to that they only send out "small" amounts of information.

ASX:
Pointer file wor Windows Media Streams.

Asymmetric:

Unequal upload and download speeds.

ADSL

When broadcasting a live stream, an ADSL line is unable to send out as high a quality stream as it can receive due to being asynchronus.

If an ADSL line is being used for a live webcast, we recommend broadcasting at 100kbps or less on a standard 512kbps connection.

For other ADSL speeds you should check with your ISP to find out the available upstream and stream your video at a suitable speed allowing for bandwidth overheads.
